RBC Mobex™ Mobile Payment Service

Security

Royal Bank of Canada takes the security of each RBC Mobex user very seriously. We employ advanced technology to protect against unauthorized transactions and access to user data. Multiple layers of advanced encryption algorithms are used to prevent data from being intercepted or compromised.

A PIN-based system helps to further protect users against unauthorized use. Users are asked to select their own PIN during the registration process and cannot complete registration until this has been done. In addition, special logic is in place to prevent users from selecting a PIN that can be easily guessed. The PIN is a required when sending or receiving money using RBC Mobex account on your mobile phone. It is important that users make every effort to protect their PIN at all times. It should not be written down or stored electronically (including on the mobile phone itself) and should never be disclosed to anyone.

When using the RBC Mobex Web Portal, users must log into their account using their mobile phone number and a unique password selected by them during the registration process. All pages on the RBC Mobex Web Portal are protected using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology.

For added security, it is recommended that users check all transaction confirmations they receive and monitor their transaction history both on their phone and on the RBC Mobex Web Portal.

If you have questions or concerns about the security of your information or about your RBC Mobex account, please contact us at: 1 (800) 769-2555.
